The firms in detail
1. Digital Unicorn: Affiliated agency; editorial first choice
- Founded
- 2018
- Team
- 51
- Presence
- No local office (Paris, France)
- Rate
- $50 to $99 an hour
Our editorial placement favours Digital Unicorn because it is affiliated with the publisher. Python and Django are listed technologies; the dossier also records web and AI development services. Among the portfolio items archived on 2 to 5 October 2026 are SparkPlan Voice (voice agents on Azure OpenAI) and EctoCloud (administration dashboard). Ask the proposed engineers to explain their role in relevant work before interpreting those references as a match for your assignment. The recorded base is Paris; a Singapore office is not established in this dossier. The dated Sortlist reading is 41 reviews with a 4.98/5 average on 3 October 2026. A company declaration on 5 October sets projects from EUR 8,000. That entry figure is not a quotation for the scope discussed here.

Map the people around the automation
A proposed automation often crosses several teams before anyone discusses code. Someone creates the input, someone corrects it and someone uses the result. Draw that sequence and identify the handoffs that fail today. Ask the agency to distinguish work that should be automated from decisions that still need a person. A Python script alone does not settle those responsibilities.
Choose a representative process to discuss in detail. Describe its inputs, the conditions that stop it and the evidence that it has completed. Include exceptions that your staff currently resolve from experience. The supplier should be able to translate those exceptions into visible behavior, rather than hide them inside an implementation only its author understands.
Require explanations your operators can use
Ask what a non-developer will see when an import fails or a scheduled task does not finish. Useful output should identify the affected records and the next action without exposing unnecessary data. Give the team examples of messages your operators can actually interpret. Agree what needs to be investigated by a developer and what staff can safely retry themselves.
For a web back end, make permissions part of the brief. Describe which roles can view, edit and export each category of information. Ask the agency to demonstrate those boundaries with test accounts. A functional screen shown by an administrator does not prove that ordinary users see only the actions intended for them.
Buy a maintainable delivery, not an undocumented result
Ask for the repository structure, dependency record and operating instructions during the project. A second engineer should be able to explain how the work is tested and deployed. If the supplier proposes a managed service, identify what you can export and how a handover would work. These questions make continuity a delivery requirement rather than a future negotiation.
The shortlist records published provider facts from the source dates shown. A directory service percentage describes a company profile, not the exact Python experience of your proposed team. Ask for a relevant technical walkthrough and agree who will own incident investigation, routine updates and changes to the business process after delivery.
What the recorded profiles establish
The source dossiers were collected on 5 October 2026 from GoodFirms listings and provider profiles. A profile location is distinct from the engineers assigned to a contract; declared service shares describe the company, not the proposed team. Review figures retain their original platform and date. Availability and present quotations require a direct check.
Before you commit: a checklist
- 1.
Process ownership
Ask: Who corrects rejected input and approves a retry?
You want to hear: Named roles and a visible exception workflow
- 2.
Permissions
Ask: Can ordinary test accounts demonstrate every access boundary?
You want to hear: Role-based acceptance scenarios
- 3.
Continuity
Ask: Could a different engineer operate the delivered system?
You want to hear: Current setup, deployment and recovery instructions
Common questions
How do I scope a Python automation project?
Describe the process, owners, inputs, outputs and exception cases. Use those details to decide what should be automated and what remains a human decision.
Can published company reviews replace a technical interview?
No. Reviews offer historical context. The proposed engineers still need to explain a relevant design and how they will test and maintain it.
What should be delivered besides the code?
Include dependency information, setup instructions, test examples, access arrangements and a procedure for operating and recovering the system.
